The questions as set out below are to be used as guideline to check if you suffer from an addiction. They are not meant to be used as a method of diagnosis, nor does a negative answer to these questions give you the guarantee that addiction is not present in you.
We are aware of the fact that diagnoses of addiction is a very serious and personal matter. We hope these questions can help you with this. Try to look at yourself and how you feel inside honestly whilst taking these tests.
Yes

1. Do you have a pattern of sexual behaviour that you cannot control?
2. Does your sexual behaviour have serious consequences in your life?
3. Is it hard to stop these behaviours even though they have serious consequences?
4.
Do you continue high risk behaviour ? (dangerous places, risk of getting caught?)
5. Do you try over and over again to control or minimise your sexual behaviour?
6.
Does your sexual behaviour act as a drug, a survival mechanism, a painkiller, you need it to function?
7.
Is your sexual behaviour progressive? (do you need more, extreme behaviour?)
8. Do you have mood swings? (deep depression, intoxication, hangover)
9. Does your sexual behaviour take a lot of time?
10.
Do you neglect important responsibilities such as work, family and friends due to your sexual behaviour?
If you have answered yes to one or more of these questions we encourage you to seek help. If you are a sex addict or not, is a question only you can answer. We discovered we all answered yes to some questions prior to recovery. The first step towards recovery is to recognise the problem and to inventory the addict behaviour.
